Each Ministry works to achieve our mission:

“Leading souls to Christ, and transforming them into the image of Christ, to revolutionize the Body of Christ.”

Children and Youth Ministry - Matthew 19:14

The Children and Youth Ministry revolutionizes the body of Christ by teaching our youngest members to live as Christ lived.  Each week they are immersed in the different components of worship:  learning to pray, reading the Holy Scriptures, fellowship, stewardship, etc.  This is all done in a manner that will make holy and practical living a palatable goal as they mature in the Christian faith.  It’s a disciplined environment and the membership actively participates in the collective and individual growth and development of our young people.  The children & youth demonstrate their skills before the congregation every 5th Sunday.

Education - Acts 17:11

The Education Ministry revolutionizes the body of Christ by instructing our members to understand and embrace Orthodox Christian doctrine as it is outlined in the Holy Scriptures.  This guards the church from falling away from Christ and into heresy.  For this reason we have a battery of well-trained, Holy Spirit filled instructors who pour into the lives of God’s people regularly.  This department is a celebration of those who are called to the gift of teaching amongst us.

Family Life Ministry -  1 Timothy 5:8

This ministry revolutionizes the body of Christ by restoring the modern family to God’s original design for a family.  One of our guiding principles is to identify the challenges faced by all families, regardless of age, and race; and then minister health and healing to them in a holistic Christ-centered way.  Our ministry embraces every aspect of developing strong spiritual and biological family relationships, which includes ministering to the needs of those who are single amongst us.

Shepherd’s Care Ministry - Psalm 23:1-4

The SC Ministry revolutionizes the body of Christ by actively demonstrating love for our brothers and sisters in Christ (John 13:35) without judgment (Matthew 7:1).  It serves as a support system for those who had un-Godly experiences at other churches, need help finding hope in Christ, may be unfamiliar with church culture or just unable to attend church regularly because of life’s unexpected challenges.  It seeks to touch the hearts of those who, if we are not careful, may feel neglected because they are on the fringe of the Church family.  This department is renowned for its compassion as it makes food, clothing, individual & marital counseling, and health & wellness services available to all who need them.

Missions Ministry - Psalm 96:3

The Missions Ministry revolutionizes the body of Christ by fulfilling the Great Commission.  Although not every Christian is called to be a “missionary,” every Christian is called to propagate the Gospel of Jesus Christ.  We must do our part to support the missions’ team as they share the Gospel with lost souls and lead them to Christ.  We stand in support of the 3-legged stool that is identified in Luke 21-24 concerning missionary service:

  • New Converts (v.21)
  • Nurturing the Churches and membership (v.22)
  • New Churches, and Ministries in New Communities (v.23)

Consecratorial Ministry - 2 Corinthians 5:14-16

The Consecratorial Ministry supports the spiritual officers of the church and helps to embody Ephesians 4:11-13 and I Timothy 2:1 at FBC. Individual members of FBC, whom God has called to serve as evangelists, intercessors and preachers, perform the work of the ministry for the perfecting of the saints and to edify the body of Christ.

Ministry of Membership - 1 Corinthians 12:12-14

Just as Paul fed Spiritual milk and not meat to the church at Corinth (1 Cor. 3:2), MOM, as this ministry is affectionately known, extends the open hand of fellowship to all who desire membership at FBC.  MOM demonstrates FBC’s high esteem for new and prospective members, introducing them to our mission, vision and doctrinal stance.

Friendship Baptist Church Non-Ministerial Ministries

Hospitality - 1 Peter 4:9-10

The Hospitality Ministry is a revolutionary approach to provide a hospitable and welcoming environment for those attending worship services and events at Friendship Baptist Church.  The Hospitality Ministry provides members and guest a friendly smile, heartfelt authentically gracious greeting and Christ-like love to ensure all feel "at home" in our services, programs or gatherings.  This ministry is dedicated to making sure that all things, within God’s house, are “done decently and in order” (I Corth. 14:40)

Communication Ministry - Philemon 6:6

The Communication Ministry is a revolutionary approach to reaching the FBC congregation and our community.  This Ministry uses media to broadcast worship services and to manage the Cyber Church, social networking platforms, public relations efforts and other special projects.  These actions inspire, inform, and invite participation in the life, mission, and purposes of the Church.
